The first stop is Tran Quoc Pagoda. It is located on the shores of West Lake in Hanoi, and this is the oldest Buddhist pagoda in Vietnam, with a history dating back to the 6th century. Featuring elegant towers, sacred statues and a serene atmosphere, the pagoda offers breathtaking panoramic views of the lake, creating a place of spiritual reflection immersed in natural beauty.
Then, we will head to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Complex. This is the resting place of President Ho Chi Minh, the outstanding leader of Vietnam. Explore the nearby Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house and the famous One Pillar Pagoda. You will continue to visit the Temple of Literature, known as the earliest educational institution in Vietnam. It has been recognized as a World Documentary Heritage under UNESCO’s Memory of the World Programme.
12:30 Enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant.
14:00 You will explore the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, one of the leading museums in Hanoi. This museum preserves and displays more than 15,000 artifacts reflecting the cultural diversity of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam. This is an ideal museum to explore the unique customs, practices and arts of ethnic communities throughout the country.
Notes: The Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is closed on Monday, you will choose to visit Hoa Lo Prison Museum or Vietnamese Women’s Museum.
Continuing this tour, you will visit Ngoc Son Temple, a special national heritage site in Vietnam. Ngoc Son Temple is located on a small island of Hoan Kiem Lake which is a part of historical monument complex “Ngoc Son Temple – The Huc Bridge – But Tower”. Dedicated to General Tran Hung Dao, Confucian scholars and the Taoist Van Xuong, the temple is a blend of Vietnamese culture, religion and picturesque architecture.
In the late afternoon, you will walk to explore the Hanoi Old Quarter. The bustling streets of Hanoi’s Old Quarter are a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Hanoi. With its rich history, vibrant culture, and unique architecture, this ancient part of the city offers a captivating glimpse into the past. Walk through the maze of shops selling everything from souvenirs to street food and you will see a vibrant atmosphere full of life.
