Phong Dien Floating Market

Not as crowded and bustling as Cai Rang Floating Market, Phong Dien Floating Market is less touristic and more  authentic. This market opens early in the morning, with dozens of boats selling all kinds of agricultural products, fruits, and local specialties, creating a lively and bustling space. Unlike Cai Rang floating market which mainly sells agricultural products, Phong Dien floating market has a more diverse range of goods, from household items to production tools: boats, boats, roofing leaves, hoes; fishing tools such as nets, traps, traps…; weaving products: baskets, trays, winnowing baskets… Visitors coming here not only experience shopping but also enjoy local dishes and explore the unique river culture, immersing themselves in the daily life of the people of the West.

 

Binh Thuy Ancient House

When visiting Can Tho, after exploring Cai Rang Floating Market, strolling along Ninh Kieu Wharf, and enjoying local fruits and garden cuisine, be sure to visit the ancient houses that reflect the cultural heritage of the Mekong Delta. Among these, Binh Thuy Ancient House is considered the most beautiful in Tay Do, with a history of over 100 years and featured as the backdrop in many famous films. Built in 1870 and owned by the Duong family, this ancient house is one of the few remaining well-preserved examples, offering significant value for research and understanding the culture and customs of the Mekong Delta during the transitional period between the two centuries.

 

Ong Pagoda

On your journey through the Mekong Delta, be sure to visit Ong Pagoda to appreciate the unique architectural beauty of the Chinese community, cultivate a heart inclined towards goodness, and sincerely pray for peace and happiness for your loved ones. The pagoda was constructed in 1894 on a 532-square-meter plot of land over two years, completed in 1896, and was originally named Quang Trieu Assembly Hall. Situated in a densely populated area, the pagoda served as a place of worship for the Chinese community at that time. In 1993, the pagoda was recognized as a national historical monument.

 

Can Tho Love Bridge

Ninh Kieu Pedestrian Bridge, also known as Can Tho Love Bridge, was built in 2016 but has quickly become a popular spot for strolling, sightseeing, and taking souvenir photos. The bridge has an S-shaped curve, is 200 meters long, and 7.2 meters wide. From the bridge, you can see the cable-stayed bridge with the longest spans in Southeast Asia.

 

The Gian Gua Historical Site

The Gian Gua Historical Site in Can Tho is often described as a powerful historical witness due to its connection with the intense struggles of our people. In the early years of the anti-French resistance, revolutionary fighters established a base at Gian Gua and engaged in various forms of resistance. During the American War, Gian Gua continued to serve as a key and secure revolutionary base. The historical site has endured through the harsh years of war, bloodshed, and heroism alongside our soldiers and people. Today, Gian Gua stands as a lasting testament to a glorious era, commemorating the sacrifices and heroism of our ancestors and serving as a symbol of historical valor.

 

The Ut Hien Ecological Flower Garden

The Ut Hien Ecological Flower Garden, located beside the serene Ba Lang River, is another appealing destination in the Mekong Delta. Situated less than 10 km from the city center, this 1-hectare garden is filled with a variety of fruit trees. Visiting Ut Hien Ecological Flower Garden, you’ll be immersed in the poetic and tranquil atmosphere of the rural river region. Wandering through the garden, the fragrance of fruits fills the air, creating a delightful ecological play area that captures the essence of the Mekong Delta. It’s a perfect spot for relaxation and enjoying the peaceful countryside.

 

The Bird Garden

Covering an area of over 16,500 square meters, the bird garden is home to around 20 different species of storks, such as the black stork, white stork, fish stork, lotus stork, marsh stork, and green stork. This riverside bird garden also serves as a communal habitat for many other bird species, including the openbill stork, heron, pelican, nightjar, pheasant, and egret. Thanks to its natural beauty, the Bird Garden is gradually becoming a well-known ecotourism destination in Can Tho, attracting many visitors.
