Ban Gioc Waterfall 

Located on the Vietnam-China border, Ban Gioc Waterfall is renowned as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Vietnam. It is the largest natural waterfall in Southeast Asia and the fourth largest waterfall in the world among those situated on a border. The waterfall is considered a place of majestic scenery, like a fairyland on the Quay Son River in Cao Bang. The waterfall not only boasts the beauty of magnificent natural landscapes but is also immersed in the legendary love story of a mountain couple.

 

Pac Bo Cao Bang

Pac Bo Cao Bang, located in the mountainous region of Cao Bang, is a pristine but magnificent area, picturesque and vibrant with the flow of history. This place is associated with important historical events of the Vietnamese nation during the resistance against the French and American forces. Pac Bo Cao Bang is famous for its mesmerizing waterfalls, crystal-clear streams, vast primeval forests, rugged and precipitous rocky mountains, and fertile, radiant fields in the valleys.

 

Le Nin Stream 

Le Nin Stream is a part of the Pac Bo Historical Site, enchanting visitors with its clear blue water, peacefully nestled in the heart of the wild forest. Previously, local people called it Khuoi Giang Stream, meaning “heaven stream.” Later, in 1941, during his time living and working in Pac Bo, President Ho Chi Minh, the beloved leader of the nation, gave the stream its new name. Not only does it possess refreshing cool water, but the surrounding vast forests with lush trees providing shade also impress everyone. Therefore, Lenin Stream is considered a perfect stop for those who want to immerse themselves in nature and experience the tranquility and purity rarely found elsewhere.

 

“Mat Than” Mountain – Nam Tra Waterfall

Nestled in a valley in Ban Danh Hamlet, Quoc Toan Commune (Tra Linh), “Mat Than” Mountain – Nam Tra Waterfall is about 2 kilometers from Thang Hen Lake. It is famous for its majestic, pristine natural beauty, making it an attractive destination for tourists from all over. From the top of the mountain, you will surely be amazed by the wild beauty of Nam Tra Lake, which covers an area of about 15 hectares and has dried up, revealing a lush green grassland sheltered by rolling mountains. Below the mountain are cornfields, adding a picturesque touch to the beautiful landscape of green mountains and clear waters.

 

Phat Tich Truc Lam Ban Gioc Pagoda

Renowned as a borderland region boasting beautiful and unique natural landscapes, besides enjoying the scenery, visitors also have the opportunity to explore many impressive structures. Among them, Phat Tich Truc Lam Ban Gioc Pagoda is now one of the famous pagodas with a long history and ancient, captivating design. When coming here, tourists can enjoy the peaceful, gentle atmosphere and admire the solemn beauty of this sacred place amidst the borderland. With its back against Phia Nham Mountain and facing a vast expanse of land, the pagoda stands out with its extraordinary beauty, resembling an impressive painting for visitors to behold.

 

Nguom Ngao Cave

Nguom Ngao Cave possesses a fascinating beauty that attracts tourists to Cao Bang. “Nguom Ngao” in the Tay language means “Tiger Cave.” Legend has it that in the past, there were many fierce tigers living in the cave, often venturing into nearby villages to prey on the local livestock. Visiting Nguom Ngao, in the summer, the temperature inside the cave creates a cool sensation for tourists, while in winter, it is pleasantly warm. Although Cao Bang Province has only developed about 1 km for tourist exploration, Nguom Ngao Cave remains a must-visit destination when coming to Cao Bang.

 

Thang Hen Lake

Thang Hen Lake is acclaimed as the “Poetic Lake” of Cao Bang’s landscapes. Perched at an altitude of over 1000m above sea level, Thang Hen Lake resembles a jade island nestled amid high mountains, boasting majestic and picturesque scenery. Thang Hen Lake is a natural freshwater lake on the highest mountain located in Vietnam. Surrounding the lake is a system of ancient forests with intertwined old trees growing on limestone mountains, creating a magnificent and poetic backdrop.

 

Ma Phuc Pass

Ma Phuc Pass stands as one of the most beautiful mountain passes along National Highway 3, captivating travelers on their journey through the Northeastern mountainous region. Particularly, it is a unique geological heritage site of the Cao Bang Global Geopark recognized by UNESCO. Each season, Ma Phuc Pass showcases its distinct charm. In spring, visitors can admire the vast green fields of corn and lush rice paddies. As autumn transitions into winter, travelers can behold the simple beauty of triangular buckwheat flower patches.
