Ba Be Lake

Na Tu 

Na Tu is a revolutionary historical site located in Bac Kan Province, along National Highway 3, about 10 kilometers north of Bac Kan town. During the resistance war against the French colonialists, this was the station of the Youth Volunteer Brigade, tasked with ensuring transportation to support the resistance. Visiting this historical site, tourists can admire the relics that remain from the war and listen to explanations about the heroic history of our nation during the struggle to defend the country.

 

Phu Thong Fort

Phu Thong Fort, located in Phu Thong town, Bach Thong district, Bac Kan province, is a historical site that commemorates the victory of our people and army during the resistance war against the French colonialists. On March 27, 1998, Phu Thong Fort was recognized as a historical site by the Ministry of Culture and Information. Visiting this historical site, tourists can view relics from the war and hear stories about the bravery and resilience of our ancestors during the Spring-Summer campaign of 1948.

 

Giang Pass

Giang Pass, located on National Highway 3, borders Bach Thong and Ngan Son districts. During the resistance war against the French colonialists, our army and people achieved a resounding victory here, which has been etched into the heroic history of the nation. This battle was the largest in scale compared to other ambushes in the Deo Giang area. From this remarkable victory, Deo Giang has become a historical landmark associated with the illustrious achievements of our army and people during the Viet Bac Counter-Offensive Campaign of Autumn-Winter 1947.

 

Na Phoong Cave

Na Phoong Cave, located within the Ba Be National Park complex in Nam Mau commune, Ba Be district, Bac Kan province, boasts magnificent natural beauty and is part of the Ba Be National Park tourist area. The cave stretches approximately 700 meters in length and rises about 180 meters high. A unique feature of Na Phoong Cave is an underground stream that flows from Nam Cuong commune through the cave to Bo Lu village, where the stream empties into Ba Be Lake. Nang Tien Cave

Thach Long Pagoda, known as the “sacred temple within the rock cave,” is located in Cao Ky commune, Cho Moi district, Bac Kan province. This is a sacred temple in the northern region with many mythical stories. The pagoda was built around the 18th century with many spiritual stories, and it is also closely associated with a turbulent period in the nation’s history. Today, the pagoda continues to attract the attention of pilgrims from afar.

 

An Ma temple

When visiting Ba Be, tourists will have the opportunity to explore an ancient temple with historical traces left from a feudal dynasty in Vietnam. The temple is called An Ma – in the Tay language, meaning “beautiful resting place” as a final consolation for the fallen generals of the Mac dynasty. To reach the temple, visitors will travel by boat on Ba Be Lake, passing through the lush greenery of the islands and immersing themselves in the natural landscape with birds and animals in the forest.

 

The Tham Temple

The Tham Temple, located in Cho Moi district, Bac Kan province, holds many legends and historical tales that have become deeply ingrained in the consciousness of the mountainous region’s residents. The temple venerates a female general named Tham, who played a significant role in fighting against the Black Flag Army in the latter half of the 19th century. Every year, numerous pilgrims visit Tham Temple to pay their respects and pray, especially during the Lunar New Year. After years of restoration and renovation, the temple was officially recognized as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic in 2012, serving as a cultural and religious hub for the local people.
